Camryn and Hailey

Camryn and Hailey – A Sister Act
These girls are total opposites in personality – Hailey is reserved and laid-back while Camryn is a little live-wire. They disagree on most things except when it comes to their community service. Both Camryn and Hailey are very proud to serve their community as Tiny Miss and Little Miss Virginia 2011-2012.
The girls ended their reign as Tiny Miss and Little Miss Chesapeake 2011, back in June, with a bang. The girls completed several projects together - Collected juice boxes for Camryn’s preschool to help them raise money for the new academic year, created decoupage bookmarks for the library, and sorted & stuffed coupons in envelopes for delivery to Overseas Commissaries. Total savings: $9,526 combined.  Hailey, Little Miss Virginia, also collected personal hygiene supplies for the Tornado victims in Bertie County, NC and claimed the title of Grand Supreme National Liberty Queen 2011.
Starting the second half of the year off right, the girls have spent some time weeding the Camellia Cove at the Chesapeake Arboretum, appeared in the Suffolk Peanut Festival Parade and ran the 50 yard Komen Kids “Race for the Cure” to help raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer.  Hailey also helped supply water to the runners at the half-way point of the Komen “Race for the Cure” main race.
In the coming weeks, the girls will be involved in many activities.  Camryn will be participating in a trike-a-thon to raise money for St. Jude’s and Hailey will be singing Christmas carols at the Olde Towne Holiday Music Festival in Portsmouth, among other things.  Hailey is also in training to participate in the 25 flight stair climb event – Step Up for the Up Center and the Mini-Mud Race - All proceeds from the race go to the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) of Hampton Roads.
Camryn and Hailey has learned the value of helping others during their time as Queens.  I hope these experiences will stay with them as they grow and mature into young women.
